Join us as we paddle from St. Norbert to Maple Grove Park
This route is approximately 12 km long and will start on the La Salle river, paddle under highway 75, meander south, past The Abbey of Our Lady of the Prairies Provincial Wayside Park and join the Red River, where we will turn north. If the conditions are favourable, we may explore the area downstream from the floodway gates.
Along this route, you will likely encounter turtles, mallards, Canada Geese with young goslings, and other critters as we meander to the Red River. Once we are headed northbound, you will see a few amazing river-front homes, pass the St. Norbert Farmer's Market, paddle under the Perimeter Highway and see a lot of birds nesting in the river banks as we approach the boat launch at Maple Grove Park. You never know what you will see along the way.
